Jean Paul Gaultier Presents First Fashion Show in Russia

17. May 2010 by Christy 0 Comments

French fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier achieved a long-time dream last Friday when he held a fashion show in Russia for the first time. The popular designer presented his 'Real Haute Couture' collection at Moscow's Kazansky railway station before a variety of Russian celebrities and journalists. The 30-minute show featured Mexican-themed designs and clothing inspired by the blockbuster film Avatar.

Gaultier selected the train station because stations "symbolize journeys and each one of my collection is also a journey of some sort."

The Paris-based designer has dressed such A-list celebrities as Madonna, Uma Thurman, and Nicole Kidman and opened his first boutique in Russian in 2005.

Here a few pictures from the historic show.
